Craig Grabs Valuable Points.

TVR driver Craig Vosbergen grabbed valuable points in defense of his track championship at the Perth Motorplex last Saturday night.

Craig returned this week determined to perform better, only to be caught out early with the track. “It was a tricky track tonight and we missed the setup in the beginning and I wasn’t comfortable in the car. We made a few shock changes for the second race and it felt really good for that.”

Come the final he was confident with the set up of the Worldwide Construction Machinery/Racing Tyres & Accessories #8 Rocket. “The car was as fast as anyone in the final, I just hit that large hole in turns 3&4 that everyone hit there tonight, and I was just the lucky one not to roll it over on to my lid (A number of Sprintcars and Speedcars crashed during the night of racing). I scraped along the wall and it messed with the alignment of the car a bit, but we still salvaged a third place and showed some improvement over last time out.”

“The cars relatively straight, we got a bit of a touch up the right rear where we knocked the wall. She’s a pretty tricky track tonight so glad to come away with the results we got” as he reflected after the meeting.

Unfortunately father, and teammate, Big Bad Bert wasn’t as pleased with his results. “We had a flat in the first one, and then an electrical fault in the second run which caused a miss in the engine.” he lamented.

“We thought we had fixed the electrical problems for the last one but it was even worse. You can’t go fast when it’s missing like that, but when it was in a straight line and running right it was the fastest car in a straight line.” As the only positive point for the #4 Worldwide Machinery/Royal Wolf Rocket. Obviously the hard work focusing on the set up of the car during the week worked for Bert and his crew.

“That’s speedway” he said, “So it’s back to the workshop and get it right for the next meeting.”

You can be sure that the TVR Late Models of the Vosbergen will come out in two weeks time for the WSS double header on November 21 & 22 firing on all cylinders’ to take on W.A.’s best at the Perth Motorplex.
