Team Vosbergen Australian Title Race Report:

TVR 's weekend started out well setting quick time in qualifying in difficult track conditions.

Heat #1 Craig struggled with an engine misfire which... haunted him all of night #1 and and eventually ended up in engine dying and causing a subsequent rollover in Heat #3.With this DNF, Craig finished night #1 20th in points.

Day #2 was an awesome effort from the TVR #8 crew getting the entire body repaired on the #8 Rocket and some bent suspension components replaced. Luckily the strong Rocket Chassis held up well with no structural damage, The TVR Team made it back to the track as the drivers brief began.

Night #2 started well with a strong 2nd place in the final Heat #4 pushing Craig up to position #13 in the final pointscore which had the #8 starting out of P5 for the the B Dash.

Craig went out in the B dash with his feature setup and was 0.5 seconds quicker than any car in A & B dashes so the TVR Team knew they had a good package for the 40 lap final coming up. Moving forward in the dash gave earned Craig a P10 starting position for the final.

The final started great with the #8 jumping to 5th on 1st lap only to have a complete re-start which was the first of several frustrating cautions on race starts which could have been avoided with some more positive stewarding. Lap 5 Craig was involved in an incident when in about 5th position which lead to a ROF decision by race officials, the only positive decision made in a race marred by several incidents and stoppages with no other penalties being handed out. Putting this incident behind him Craig re-focussed on the next 30 laps knowing he still had a fast hotrod and drove one his best ever races working his way back to 4th by lap 30 and closing in fast on the leaders.

Unfortunately a restart at lap 30 lead to a huge error in the lap scoring even with the transponders and manual lap scorers on hand. Craig was surprisingly put back to 8th place at restart behind cars he had already worked hard to pass several laps prior, Craig stopped twice to try and advise race officials of the error to no avail.

Craig then had to put this frustration behind him again to push forward, working his way to a close 3rd place finish which was verified by the electronic timing system. Later this was 3rd place finish was reviewed by race officials to a 4th place which left the whole TVR crew bemused and highly frustrated.

Take nothing away from Brad Blakes great win and the other placegetters efforts but the TVR #8 crew left the pits this night knowing that they could have challenged for the win had the correct lap scoring decisions been made.

The TVR Team will now move onto the next event at Mildura Speedway for the Victorian State Championship on the 22nd March with even more determination
