TVR Xmas Wrap up 2011
It has been a busy month the TVR crew both on and off the track.
Since our last press release the TVR #8 crew have travelled our east to Kalgoorlie for the WA State Championship, down south the Albany Speedway and to the Motorplex and the TVR #4 crew have been busy dyno testing the V6 powerplant and getting rid of the ignition gremlins.
In between all of this we have been busily preparing Steve Shaver’s USA #6 Ride for the upcoming USA Late Model Invasion Tour coming up in the New year from the 1st January through to the 7th January.
Craig in the TVR #8 Rocket has had a rough ride the past 3 race meetings coming home with plenty of damage from incidents that were not his fault and not the results we had hoped for.
The car has been great and certainly quick enough to be up front at each event. The Kalgoorlie State Championship we got tripped up by a spinning car in the 1st Heat of the night and suffered extensive damage to the rear end and had to play catch up for rest of the night finally finishing 4th in the final after a charge from mid pack on a one lane track. Albany was all going to plan after qualifying well, winning the dash, starting pole in feature but then after only completing half a lap a race incident left the #8 with extensive front end damage after contact with the wall. The Motorplex sedan muster last weekend againthe #8 was up into 3rd position in the final when unnecessary contact bent the front end suspension and forced us to limp home 5th when we had a car that could have won that race.
We have some great go-pro HD incar video footage from Albany & Motorplex races that we will soon post once edited ….watch this space!!
So we can only hope with the arrival of the USA guys and a new year the TVR luck changes around !!
Big Bad Bert has also had the #4 V6 Super Sedan out for a run since the last release again with promising results, with a few minor engine gremlins behind him he can now concentrate on getting the car setup fine tuned as at present still trying to find a base setup to work from. Lap times gain have shown that this car once fully sorted will be not far away from some good race results and wins.
The next races for TVR are:
Craig #8 – USA INVASION TOUR
1st /2nd January Manjimup Speedway
6th January Collie Speedway
7th January Bunbury City Speedway
Bert #4 – Dec 27th Motorplex Xmas Cup
